MAPPA's Chainsaw Man: The Movie — Reze Arc has added two major award circuit credits to an already standout theatrical run. The film is nominated for an Annie Award for Best Direction in an Animated Feature and has landed a slot in the Film of the Year category at the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

The Reze Arc opened at number one on the North American box office weekend it debuted — a rare feat for an anime feature, and one that the Chainsaw Man anime's first television season, despite its cultural reach, did not directly set up commercially. Director Tatsuya Yoshihara returns from the TV run, with Ryu Nakayama and Yasunori Mitsuda's music continuing across the feature.

Film of the Year at this year's Crunchyroll Anime Awards puts the Reze Arc in direct competition with Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, Mononoke: Chapter II — The Ashes of Rage, Scarlet, and The Rose of Versailles — the deepest anime film field at the awards since their launch.
